Continuing to celebrate deliverance from Egypt, the festival starts the evening after Passover and lasts seven days, Eating only unleavened bread (matzah) as the Israelites left with such haste they had no time to let bread rise. Removing all leavened products (representing sin), from homes.

About the event

Make bread together, or buy matzah (unleavened bread) and eat it daily. Do not eat or have any leaven in your house. Thoroughly clean your home of all bread, crackers, pasta, and anything with yeast, symbolic of removing sin. This is a great lesson and time of mindfulness on how a little leaven can spoil the whole lump. Read the Exodus story, and reflect on the haste of leaving Egypt and how faithful is our God! You can use the matzah (unleavened bead) for communion linking it to the body of Christ and reflect on the purity of our sinless Lamb. This is a time to be rid of sin (spiritual leaven), and focus on holy living.
