Day of Trumpets

Fri, 01 Oct

|

Observed Online Friday 1st October 2027

This feast occurs when the first sliver of the new moon is sighted. Because we do not know when that will be, we have to be ready, much like for the coming of the Messiah! . We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. (1 Cor 15:51)

About the event

The main thing is to make a joyful noise (sing, shout, play instruments)! Many see the feast of Trumpets as foreshadowing the return of Jesus. The sound of the trumpet historically announced the arrival of a King, and calling people into assembly. Gather together! Blow or play a recording of the Shofar, to awaken the soul. The trumpet sound is a spiritual alarm clock to return to God. Praise His Holy name, worship Him, share meals with loved ones, give to charity, remember His creation. This is a significant Holy day of our Lord, abstain from regular work for a holy rest focusing on God's kingship and preparation for the day of Atonement.

11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
